It's kind of like Tetris

Originally I was drawn to this building by the words, but I noticed that all the windows created these weird rectangular shapes. All together, they're really geometric. It made me wonder exactly who was designing the windows, who thought it'd be a good idea to make them all different. It's funny too because I have always seen this building in passing yet I never really paid attention to something like this until I took a photograph of it.

Intense Yet Lazy

This was another one I thought was kind of humorous because right next to this lady who's so intense about reading her magazine is this other lady who's just lazing away. They're somewhat like opposites: glasses vs no glasses, thin vs heavy, engaged vs asleep. I think I would like to try and find more photo opportunities like this that have some kind of quirkiness to it.

Contemplation on a Bridge

This one was caught while walking across the Manhattan Bridge. When I was walking over the bridge, there was this guy just standing there. People passed by him and he didn't even notice, he was perfectly still almost. As I passed him by he didn't even notice I stopped right behind him and began shooting even though my shoes squeak when I walk. I just thought it was kind of sad looking. I also thought it was appropriate to do it in black and white because it was dreary that day and it added to the atmosphere of the moment.

Hitting a Creative Wall

This photograph was kind of funny to me. It's a logo on a bicycle lane which is running straight into that wall of snow. It's the way the wheel is weathered and crashing into a snow wall I guess. You can put captions on it and it'd be a small comic.

Super Heroic

I took this picture while crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, towards the Manhattan side. This was really interesting to me because of the colors on the building. I noticed that the lower section isn't really built, it's a large tarp that's colored to look like the side of a building. As the wind blows it with the sun shining against it to create this dramatic lighting, it looks almost like a scene out of a comic book. I feel like all it's missing is Superman or something and it'll almost look like an illustration.

*edit : Correction, upon closer inspection I think that's actually what the building exterior is supposed to look like as I don't remember it actually fluttering in the wind. Also you would think that if it had moved in some of the other shots I took of it, one of them would have a motion blur of some kind eventually.
